The Lipo + Renuvion procedure process
Step 1: Consultation. We’ll assess your skin’s condition and aesthetic goals to ensure that liposuction + Renuvion is the appropriate treatment combination to achieve outstanding results.
Step 2: Preoperative. We recommend general anesthesia for enhanced comfort during most liposuction procedures; however, a local anesthetic with IV sedation may be considered for small treatment areas. (When performed alone, Renuvion is safely and comfortably performed with a local anesthetic and optional IV sedation).
Step 3: Liposuction. Tiny incisions (less than a quarter-inch) are strategically placed near the treatment area to minimize visible scarring, and a tumescent fluid is then injected into the targeted fat deposits to numb the area, reduce blood loss, and to make fat removal more efficient. Then, a thin, hollow tube (cannula) is inserted through the incisions to target and break up fat deposits and smooth and define your shape. The cannula is connected to a vacuum or syringe to remove the unwanted fat.
VASER liposuction is often the best liposuction technique to pair with Renuvion. The specialized VASER device is inserted through the incisions and emits ultrasound energy, which liquefies the fat cells without harming the surrounding connective tissues, blood vessels, and nerves. The cannula then removes the liquefied fat.
Step 4: Renuvion. Once the unwanted fat has been removed, the specialized Renuvion handpiece is inserted through the same incisions, emitting plasma and radiofrequency energy to targeted tissues beneath the skin. The heat generated from the energy causes the collagen and elastin fibers to contract and tighten, boosting new collagen and elastin production. When we’ve achieved the optimal skin tightening effect, the device is removed, and the incisions are closed with surgical tape or sutures if necessary.
Step 5: Postoperative. You may need to wear a compression garment to support your new shape and minimize swelling for some treatment areas. You can resume light activities about a week after your procedures and start exercising after about 3-4 weeks in most cases.
Step 6: Recovery. You’ll notice immediate results from your liposuction + Renuvion procedures; however, there may be some bruising and slight swelling. These mild effects will dissipate over a few weeks and you’ll enjoy complete results that were once only possible with surgical skin removal.
