Ultherapy Lafayette, LA
Don’t let sagging skin get you down—Ultherapy® offers safe, effective non-invasive skin tightening to naturally lift sagging tissues on the brow, face, and neck with no downtime. Learn all about this popular treatment, now available at Dr. Duplechain’s Lafayette cosmetic surgery practice!
We like to blame sagging skin on gravity, but really it’s a result of a gradual breakdown of collagen and elastin—the stuff that keeps skin firm and smooth—in our skin and connective tissues. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen and elastin, and skin literally doesn’t bounce back as quickly as it once did. Eventually, this leads to jowls, crepey skin on the neck and chest, and a sagging, furrowed brow.
The good news is that Ultherapy can help reduce or even reverse these changes without surgery or downtime.

What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses targeted ultrasound energy to lift, smooth, and tighten aging tissues in the face, neck, and chest. The ultrasound energy has a thermal effect, which means it heats tissues to the point where they respond by building new collagen and elastin. As a result, the treated areas become gradually firmer and your facial contours become better defined.
While there are many newer skin tightening technologies on the market, Ultherapy has a 10-year track record for safety and efficacy, and we are proud to offer patients in Lafayette, Alexandria, Baton Rouge, and throughout Lousiana this non-surgical alternative for facial rejuvenation.

How does Ultherapy work?
We perform Ultherapy as an in-office treatment at Dr. Duplechain’s office. We can treat one or more of the following areas during a single appointment:
- Mid and lower face (jowls)
The procedure itself involves two steps. First, we will use ultrasound imaging to “map out” areas of most significant collagen loss and tissue thinning. This helps us identify areas to focus on during the active phase of treatment. Next, we will switch to therapeutic ultrasound; this is the type of energy that heats the skin and induces new collagen production deep beneath the skin’s surface.
How much does Ultherapy cost?
Our Ultherapy prices range between $300 and $3,500, depending on the treatment area(s) and the extent of treatment needed to achieve your desired results. Financing is available!
Is Ultherapy a good option for me?
Ultherapy is safe and effective for any skin type, and a great option for men and women who are bothered by early signs of aging, including mild jowls, excess fullness under the chin, sagging in the brow area, or a “crepey” appearance to the chest. For such individuals, Ultherapy can achieve very impressive results and even take a few years off their appearance.
If you have more progressive skin sagging, or significant excess fat under the chin, Ultherapy is unlikely to be a powerful enough treatment. Traditional facelift surgery is best for correcting heavy jowls, significant loose skin on the neck, and deep creases. Likewise, neck liposuction may be necessary, perhaps in conjunction with Ultherapy, to eliminate a larger amount of excess fat and achieve a well-defined jawline.
When will I see results from Ultherapy?
You may notice an immediate mild skin tightening effect after Ultherapy, as the skin contracts in response to the thermal energy. However, the main improvements occur gradually, as new collagen and elastin are produced in the treated areas. Most patients experience optimal results 2 to 3 months after their Ultherapy treatment.
